Meet School Staff
Dr. Konrad Korobacz
Head of School
Ph.D. (UNE), Grad. Dip. Art History (University of Adelaide), BTL (CDU) BA (UTAS)
‘I have made education my life’s vocation and am devoted to the developmental and learning needs of children who place their trust in the adult world to provide the best possible foundation for their future lives. I have found that Steiner education provides the most comprehensive understanding and the most profound teaching practice methodology to prepare children to meet the serious challenges facing the world.’
Education has been Konrad’s vocation since commencing teaching as a student teacher at Lorien Novalis in 1973. Konrad brings to the school over 50 years of experience working as a Steiner teacher, teacher educator, and school founder. As a school leader and Board member, he has brought to Lorien Novalis his experience and knowledge, as well as a diverse perspective of regulatory practice and School Governance in NSW, Northern Territory, and WA.
Greg Parkes
High School
Greg’s background in education spans over 35 years, he has worked as a teacher in State, Catholic, and Independent Schools. In Steiner Education, he has been a Class Teacher, Class Guardian, Faculty Coordinator, and former Head of School at Shearwater, The Mullumbimby Steiner
School. Greg believes that education extends beyond the experiences of school, which should be the basis for lifelong learning. School should provide a safe, warm, and caring environment; challenging and rich learning experiences; and respectful and meaningful relationships that enable
students to develop as creative, freethinking individuals so they can participate successfully
and constructively in the wider community.
